Salvador Álvarez appointed as new Managing Director of ALTÁN Redes

México City, October 22, 2019. In today’s Altán Redes, S.A.P.I, de C.V. (Altán) Executive Board meeting, Salvador Álvarez has been appointed as new Managing Director of the Company. Salvador Álvarez will take office on November 11th, 2019.
Salvador Álvarez has a solid knowledge of the Mexican telecommunications sector, as he has been CEO at Maxcom, and later at Nextel, which he restructured and sold to ATT. Mr. Álvarez is an experienced executive with a long standing international expertise, leading successful international commercial operations, both in the telecommunications and food sectors. His professional career has covered wholesale and retail markets.
The Executive Board has highlighted the magnificent work of Mr. Javier Salgado, Altán’s Managing Director until November 11th, who from next January onwards will begin a new professional project in the United States. During his successful work leading Altán, Mr. Salgado has created a talented professional team, with which he has developed from the early stages one of the most innovative mobile telecommunications projects in the world.
Bernardo Sepúlveda, Chairman of the Board has welcomed Mr. Álvarez and has pointed out that “the expertise and committment of the new Managing Director is an assurance of success at this new phase Altán which begins with Salvador’s direction.”
Salvador Álvarez stated: “Altán is transforming the telecommunications industry and broadband in Mexico. Mexican private company that develops and operates Red Compartida, the most important telecommunications network in recent years in Mexico.
