The commercial launch of these two markets jointly covers more than 805 thousand people, including more than 158,000 in localities with less than 10 thousand inhabitants. With this, the 4.5G coverage of Red Compartida already reaches more than 52 million people nationwide (more than 46% of the total population of Mexico).

In Playa del Carmen, ALTÁN covers more than 254,000 people in 341 localities of Quintana Roo, and more than 96 thousand are located in areas of less than 10,000 inhabitants. Both commercial markets include together 40 localities classified by the Mexican National Population Council (Conapo) of “high” and “very high” marginalization. Places that without Red Compartida presence would continue with poor or no Internet connectivity at home, business or mobile.

Additionally, with the incorporation of the Pueblo Mágico of Tulum, a place of high tourist value for the Yucatán Peninsula due to its important archeological centers, the enormous beauty of its beaches, and its many cultural experiences, the network already covers 43 Pueblos Mágicos nationwide as well as its inhabitants and visitors, all with the state-of-the-art connectivity.

Red Compartida has a high sense of social inclusion and -in addition to its quality obligations, which require it to offer the best benefits for end-users-, population coverage requirements to reach 92.2% of the inhabitants by 2024 (at least 15% of it must be in areas of less than 10,000 inhabitants). Under this precept, 16.6% of the total covered in the two states is located in populations of less than 10,000 inhabitants.

With that launches, the goals of coverage of broadband internet access have advanced and competitiveness is promoted. These are objectives established for Red Compartida by the Government of Mexico, which will help bring Internet for all its citizens.
