Don Bernardo Sepúlveda Amor is recognized as the Best Lawyer in Arbitration and Mediation in Mexico

CDMX, December 6, 2019. The prestigious American magazine “Best Lawyers” distinguished Mr. Bernardo Sepúlveda Amor, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALTÁN Redes, S.A.P.I. from C.V. (ALTÁN), as the Best Lawyer in Arbitration and Mediation for the 2020 edition of Mexico.

ALTÁN celebrates this recognition granted by his own colleagues, because we have witnessed firsthand his professionalism, leadership, vision, commitment and human warmth in his career.

Don Bernardo was selected from the list of existing arbitration attorneys made up of hundreds of law firms in the country. We appreciate the guidance he has provided to Altan with his great experience to achieve the goals of bringing connectivity and reducing the digital divide in Mexico.

About Bernardo Sepúlveda Amor

Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALTÁN since September 28, 2017.

He is a jurist and Mexican diplomat. He is currently an advisor to the law firm Creel, García Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C., where he directs the area of international arbitration. During his extensive career, he served as judge of the International Court of Justice and vice president of that same judicial body of the United Nations.

As a diplomat, he was secretary of Foreign Affairs, Mexican ambassador in Washington and London, member of the UN International Law Commission. He is ambassador emeritus of Mexico.

In the SHCP (Ministry of Finance) he was general director of International Tax Affairs. He was a general lawyer of the ICA Group and a member of its board of directors. In 2014 he received the National Jurisprudence Award from the Mexican Bar Association, Colegio de Abogados, S.C.

In the academic field, he has been a professor for national and international institutions. He has published several books and articles on foreign policy, international economic relations, foreign trade, foreign investment and international law. He is receiver of the Prince of Asturias Award.
